The water in the reservoir
has been used for the purpose of farming. Moreover,
the dam protects a large area of farm land below the
dam that can be destroyed due to heavy pour of water
flowing from the Asir mountains during rainy season. |

A white mountain amidst black
rocky hills is a very exciting sight at the vicinity
of Bishah
Drive 5.3km from the Bishah
airport entrance on the way to Khamis Mushayt and
turn left to an off road. Drive another 9km (total
14.3km) to reach the base of the mountain.

Route (Trip: 2 wheel drive):
From Bishah: At the Bishah Airport
entrance, drive towards Khamis Mushayt
(highway no.255). You get a roundabout
at 1km. Set your odometer at Zero. At 12.5km
turn right (off highway) as you get a sign board
in Arabic that reads "Sadh Malik Fahad". From
here onwards, the road is narrow and undivided.
At 18km you will get a "T" junction where you
can turn left and drive until you get a right
turn at 26km. After 500 meters turn left and
drive through the wadi for about 17.5km (total
of 44km in your odometer) to find a security
post for the Dam. As you pass the security
gates, drive 3 more kilometers (total 47km) and
you are at the Dam. |
