The idea behind designing this site is to extend my travel and
trekking experiences in Saudi Arabia among those enthusiasts who
love to travel through the land and learn its people, culture,
evident histories and appreciate its exquisite landscapes.
Ever since I explored this land, its pages were increasing. The
wealth of sights and sounds this part of Arabian Peninsula bestows
is rewarding.
Born in India and completing my 14 years in the Kingdom as an
expatriate, the wonders that Saudi Arabia gifted me in a decade are
more than my words can express.
I tried my best to blend my travel and photographic experiences
in this site. With very limited time available, I don't find it easy
to bring all my travel stories into life at a stretch. Instead, I
will populate the site's pages on a regular basis as time permits.
Moreover, there is a lot more to be explored in the Kingdom.
Hope you enjoy...
TRIBUTE
All my praises are to God Almighty, the Most Gracious, the Most
Merciful and Ever Living.
I am so grateful to my Mom, Ayisha Mohammadali, and to my Dad,
Mohammadali, a lexicographer, both of whose love and guidance
kindled my interest in traveling.
To my wife, Shijna Nowfal, for all her assistance and inspiration
through the journey of life.
To my brothers and sisters for their constant love and
companionship.
To my uncles for their guidance and support since I was young.
To Mohammad Haseeb, a web developer, with whom I cleared the
obstacles in the initial stages of my study of web designing.
My sincere gratitude to the local people (Saudis) of the
respective area of my visit, for their love, hospitality and
interest in outpouring information.
To the Bedouins of the desert who are a symbol of confidence and
survival.
To Dr. Ahmed, dept. of Archeology and Museology of King Saud
University for providing abundant information on Qaryat Al Fau and
other Archeological sites and to Dr. Abdullah Al Amri, prof. of
Geophysics of KSU for identifying the fossils and providing related
information.
Finally to Mr. Mohammad Al Qahtani and his little son, Sanad, of
Jelah who took us and our vehicle out of the desert storm where we
were exhaustedly trapped for more than three and half hours.
CO-TREKKERS
With impressively great travel awareness and curiosity, my
co-trekkers (randomly) play a great part in making each trip a
pleasant experience. Qaid Jowhar, Ashraf Thenari, Sadaruddin,
Hassan, Jim Norton, Arun Kumar, Saleem, Mohammad Sajid, Ashoor Babu,
Muzafer Ahmed, Shanoj, Noushad, Nijas, Najeeb, Ziyad, Adeeb Farhan,
Shahid and Mohammad Haseeb are to be
remembered here. I do thank my friends in the other locations of
Saudi Arabia for their unsolicited support and proper guidelines in
their respective areas. Shihab Vilayil (Najran), Haris (Jizan),
Kunhi Mohammed (Farasan Islands), Mohammad (Khamis Mushayt),
Mohammad Kutty (Bisha) and Shihab (Al Ula) are a few of them. And of
course, last but not least, I am so grateful to those co-trekkers
that are missing in the list.
